BRAVE1 Just Dropped 53 Tech Priorities. Here's What Matters.

BRAVE1, Ukraine's defence innovation accelerator, just updated its technological priorities. 53 items across 10 domains. This isn't a wish list. It's a procurement signal from a country that's been stress-testing defence tech at industrial scale for over four years.
We updated our own focus to align closely with this list. If you're building or investing in something relevant to actual frontline needs, start here.
The 10 Domains
Missile Systems
Components, materials, and testing infrastructure for next-gen missile development. Ukraine is building its own missile industry from scratch, and every layer of the supply chain is a gap that needs filling.
AI & Autonomy
Autonomous target recognition for UAVs. Turret detection and aiming. Swarm coordination. The battlefield is moving faster than human reaction times, and the systems that win are the ones that don't need a pilot in the loop.
UAVs
Eleven subcategories. Tube-launched drones. Kamikaze aircraft. Interceptor drones flying at 450+ km/h. CAB interceptors. Radiation-homing UAVs. This is the most granular and arguably most urgent domain on the list. The drone war is evolving monthly, and each new threat spawns a new category of response.
Enabling Technologies
MavLink control systems. Long-range communications (200+ km). GNSS anti-jamming. Fiber optic cable cutting systems. Small radars. Laser designators. These are the unglamorous building blocks that make everything else work. Without comms, without navigation, without targeting, nothing flies and nothing hits.
Ground Robotic Systems
Autonomous turrets. Logistics UGVs. Engineering UGVs. Amphibious platforms. MEDEVAC platforms. Reconnaissance UGVs. Ground robotics is where the next leap happens. Evacuating wounded under fire without risking more lives. Resupplying positions that humans can't reach. Clearing routes autonomously.
Maritime
Specialized unmanned surface vessels. Underwater strike drones. Torpedo mines. Ukraine has already proven that USVs can reshape naval warfare. Now they're scaling and diversifying.
Future Technologies
Anti-drone lasers. Railguns. EMP weapons. These sound like science fiction until you remember that a $500 FPV drone can destroy a $5M vehicle. The economics demand directed energy and unconventional countermeasures.
Munitions
Anti-artillery UAV munitions. Precision-guided munitions. Smart minefield control systems. The intersection of autonomy and explosives. Munitions that think, adapt, and coordinate.
Electronic Warfare & Reconnaissance
Video channel jamming. Anti-CAB EW. Airborne EW. Mavic/Autel countermeasures. EW is the invisible battlefield, and it's arguably where the war is won or lost before a single shot is fired.
Components
Flight controllers. RF amplifiers. ESCs. Thermal camera lenses. Hybrid power units. Ramjets. If you're making the parts that go inside these systems, you're as critical as the integrators building the final product.
What This Means
This list is a roadmap. Not theoretical, not aspirational. It's built from years of real combat data, operational feedback loops, and iterative battlefield testing that no peacetime R&D program can replicate.
If your technology touches any of these 10 domains, BRAVE1 wants to hear from you. And so do we.
Or surprise us with something totally different. The best innovations are often the ones nobody asked for, solving problems nobody knew how to articulate yet.
